Experiental LifeSkills Learning with Horses

Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is an experiential learning method where horses become partners in helping people develop essential life skills.

What is EAL?

EAL is not riding. It's a ground-based learning process where through various tasks and interaction with horses, participants:

  • Recognize their own communication patterns

  • Learn clear leadership without force

  • Set healthy boundaries

  • Develop confident presence

  • Strengthen body and emotional awareness

Welcome to Učni Ranch Bohinj, where horses create space for personal growth and deep connection with self. As Slovenia's first certified EAL (Equine Assisted Learning) and EFW (Equine Facilitated Wellness) trainer, Snežana Antonić leads programs that combine ethical horse partnership, somatic awareness, and gentle nervous system regulation.

In the embrace of the Julian Alps, where nature intertwines with tranquility, our horses - Arabian mare Askaja and her sons Bukefal and Aslan - guide participants on a journey of trust, presence, and inner stability

Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is grounded in somatics, horse ethology and modern neuroscience. Horses are highly attuned to posture, micro-movements and human nervous-system patterns.
When we enter their space, our physiology naturally shifts — a process often described as somatic co-regulation.

In EAL, we don’t teach the horse — the horse teaches us. Their responses offer immediate, honest feedback that bypasses cognitive defenses and brings clarity to what we truly feel.

EAL is ideal for personal growth, boundaries, confidence, stress regulation, teens, and anyone wanting a safe, experiential learning environment.
