Askaja: once almost wild, now my most intuitive therapeutic partner
Today, Askaja is one of the most intuitive therapeutic horses I have ever met. She doesn’t perform — she creates space. And that is the heart of my work.
Askaja's story
Askaja - The Queen Mother of our Band
Askaja is not an ordinary horse.
She is present, precise, deeply sensitive, and profoundly attuned to human emotional states.
Research (HeartMath Institute, 2021) shows horses act as **external regulators of the human nervous system**.
Askaja does this naturally:
* calming people,
* grounding them,
* helping them see the truth within.
She actively co-creates all our programs:
* Bridle Up Your Life (EAL)
* Path Within (EFW)
* Couple programs
* Leadership sessions
* Individual experiences
Her influence is not in the past but fully alive in our work today**.

Askajas'Full Story
Askaja – the Half-Wild Mare Who Saved My Life
When Askaja arrived, she was half-wild, suspicious and tense.
It took months before she allowed me into her space, and even longer before she trusted my touch.
Years later, when I hit burnout, she was the first to know something in me had collapsed.
I came to her empty, exhausted, holding myself together only on the outside.
But that day, Askaja didn’t keep her distance.
She walked to me slowly, deliberately, and stopped right beside me.
She didn’t move.
She didn’t ask.
She simply stayed.
And in that quiet presence, my body finally let go.
I cried into her shoulder, and she grounded me in a way no therapist, no words, no logic could.
Sometimes the one who saves you is the one who asks for nothing from you.
Askaja didn’t fix me.
She reminded me that I didn’t have to carry everything alone.
Today she helps women find the same truth in our Bridle up your Life program:
that trust begins where pretending ends.

About me
Snežana Antonić, a women who has always been connected with horses
My life has always been shaped by horses. Even though I built a company that has now existed for twenty years — an rare milestone — my true path was always waiting for me elsewhere.
At forty, I bought my first mare — Askaja — almost wild.
I was burned out and depressed.
She was wounded and distrustful.
We learned each other slowly.
I offered her safety.
She gave me myself back.
Today, Askaja is my most intuitive therapeutic partner, helping people reconnect with themselves in the most honest way.
My mission is to create a somatic, horse-guided space where people can finally breathe again.
Askaja: once almost wild, now my most intuitive therapeutic partner
Askaja entered my life almost wild — untrusting, sensitive and powerful.
At that time, I was in deep burnout and depression.
We learned each other slowly.
I gave her a home.
She gave me my life back.
At Učni Ranč Bohinj, I create a safe, somatic, horse-guided space for deep personal reconnection.
My approach combines:
-
somatic awareness
-
gentle nervous system regulation
-
ethical partnership with horses
-
embodied presence
-
deep respect for equine intelligence
I don’t believe in pressure or perfection.
I believe in presence.
In authenticity.
In the quiet moment when a person feels themselves again — and the horse feels them too.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is Ethical Horsemanship grounded in respect, awareness, and presence.
